Not really a good place but definitely do-able. I waited 30 minutes before getting a ride out to near the T.C.H.―Drumroots

No clue how a car could stop here. Maybe I'm not innovative enough.―K9f100

Pretty easy to get a ride back from Cape Spear to St John's by hitching at the parking lot exit, though I don't imagine anybody is going much further.―Anonymous

Stand here with a sign "T.C.H." to go west. Make sure that your driver drops you ON the Trans-Canada Highway (there's a gas station just after Pitts Memorial Hwy joins TCH)―Anonymous

I'm proud of my discovery. Found it with Google StreetView as a stretch of the road with some decent place to pull over. Then went there and it was actually good. Loads of traffic, waited less than 30 minutes. You get there with the bus 6 from Downtown (as of June 2014), need to walk a small distance from the bus stop to the road through the Bowring Park.

Not a bad spot. Somewhat decent room for cars to pull over that are coming from the on ramp but can't say the same for the ones already on the highway. July 2025.―Anonymous
